July 2016 update.

Dear member,

We shall shortly be receiving our allocation of tickets for the Beechgrove Garden Roadshow to be recorded in the Village Hall on Thursday 29th September. Anyone wishing to reserve a ticket for the show should contact me by e-mail at root@strathkinnesscommunity.co.uk or give me a call on 850649 as soon as possible. Tickets will be strictly limited.  This opportunity to host Scotland’s very popular gardening show is a real feather in the cap for our community. Don’t miss this chance of a lifetime to take part in the programme!  Book now!

We have positive news on the purchase Magus Muir woodland. Kenny Gray, our solicitor, has advised me that matters should be concluded by the end of this month. We look forward to the next stage of this exciting project.

The recent seeding of the last part of the Village Green has transformed the area. Once the grass has been allowed to stabilise we can look forward to the final stages of the tree planting in the spring.  We await further details from Messrs. Headon regarding the proposed power supply point for the site.

Judging for the Beautiful Fife Best Small Village competition takes place on Wednesday 20th July at 2pm. We have been working hard to get the place looking as tidy as possible and we would ask if any of you are able to assist to contact any of us. We shall be doing a litter pick, and tidying the shrubbery around the bus shelter at the village Green over the weekend and early next week. Despite the mixed weather, the perennial plants in the tubs are becoming more established and some good sunshine would be a bonus. We would also ask the allotment holders to make sure their plots are as tidy as possible for the judges.

Just a reminder to those of you who have not yet paid your annual subscriptions of £5, to let us know if you no longer wish to be a member, to allow us to keep the register up to date.

Best regards from your Trustees.
